🎓 Step 1: Enroll in a Tour Guide Training Course

Courses are conducted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (SLITHM) – the official institute under the Ministry of Tourism.

👩‍🎓 1. National Tourist Guide Lecturer (NTGL)

✅ License to guide tourists island-wide
📚 Course Duration: ~5 months (Full-time)
🎓 Entry Requirement: A/L + English O/L
🌐 Medium of Instruction: English
🗣️ Must know at least one foreign language fluently

📍 Available at: SLITHM main campus – Colombo
💰 Course Fee: Approx. Rs. 70,000 – Rs. 100,000 (subject to change)

🚗 2. Chauffeur Tourist Guide Lecturer (CTGL)

✅ License for driver-guides (individuals or small groups)
📚 Course Duration: ~3.5 months
🎓 Entry Requirement: O/L + valid driving license
🌐 Medium of Instruction: English or Sinhala
🗣️ Foreign language knowledge is a strong advantage

📍 Available at: Colombo & selected regional campuses
💰 Course Fee: Approx. Rs. 50,000 – Rs. 80,000
