• 𝐊𝐧𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞
Distance from Colombo Airport: ~140 km (about 4-5 hours by car)
Known for its rugged peaks, rich biodiversity, and traditional villages. The cool climate and spectacular views make it perfect for both day hikes and overnight treks.
• Best Time: June to September
• Why: During the mid-year dry season (southwest monsoon), Knuckles is less rainy and more accessible.
• Avoid: October–January (can be very rainy and leech-heavy)
• 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 & 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝'𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐝
Distance from Colombo Airport: ~170 km (approx. 5 hours by car)
Home to the famous “World’s End” cliff, this trail offers panoramic views and a chance to spot endemic wildlife like sambar deer and exotic birds.
• Best Time: January to April
• Why: Clear mornings and drier weather give the best visibility at World's End. The mist often sets in by mid-morning, so start your hike early (around 6–7 AM).
• Avoid: May to August (frequent fog and poor visibility)
• 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦’𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐤 (𝐒𝐫𝐢 𝐏𝐚𝐝𝐚)
Distance from Colombo Airport: ~130 km (around 4 hours by car)
A sacred pilgrimage site with a unique sunrise hike that rewards you with breathtaking views and a spiritual experience.
• Best Time: December to May (Pilgrimage Season)
• Why: The trail is well-lit, and local vendors are active. It’s safest and most spiritual during the season.
• Avoid: Off-season (June–October) — slippery trails, mist, and fewer safety services
• 𝐄𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐤 & 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦’𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐤

Great for shorter hikes with incredible views of tea plantations and valleys.

• Central Highlands (Ella, Horton Plains, Knuckles, Adam’s Peak):

• Avoid: October to December – these months tend to bring inter-monsoon rains, making trails slippery and river crossings dangerous.
