In Sri Lanka, charity isn’t just an occasional act—it’s part of who we are. Giving is woven into our everyday lives, guided by compassion and spirituality. From sharing a meal with a neighbor to supporting entire families, the spirit of giving flows through every village and every heart.

Walk into any temple and you’ll witness alms givings (Dhana), people offering food to monks, and daily acts of generosity—not out of obligation, but out of deep respect and faith.

It’s common for people to search for opportunities to give—whether it’s offering a meal to a traveler, helping a struggling child with school supplies, or donating during a temple event.
Giving is seen as a blessing—both for the one who receives and, especially, for the one who gives.

“If beings knew, as I know, the result of giving and sharing, they would not let a single meal pass without sharing it.” (— Itivuttaka 26)

According to Buddhist belief, the wealth, comfort, and joy we have in this life are the results of the good deeds and generosity we’ve practiced in past lives.

Even if you don’t have much, offering a small act of kindness today plants seeds of abundance and happiness in your future.

When my German friend visited Sri Lanka, he saw this powerful culture of compassion firsthand. He met kind-hearted people, witnessed the spiritual side of giving, and saw how personal and pure our charity efforts are.

He wanted to be part of it. Together, we found a struggling family:
A disabled mother, two daughters trying to stay in school, and an elderly father with no steady income.

Since May 2025, my friend has been quietly sending a small amount every month — less than what one meal might cost in Germany. But for a family here, it has meant food on the table and dignity in their daily life.

The photos you see were taken during our visit last month — and they speak louder than words. Sometimes, it doesn’t take much to create a meaningful change. 💛

He told me, “This is new to me — but the world needs to see how a small amount can truly change a life.”
Now he’s sharing this message everywhere, spreading the power of simple, direct giving and asked me to share.

Not everyone has the same path. Illness, disability, poverty, or the loss of a parent can suddenly turn a family’s life upside down.
But with a little support, we can lift someone up and give them hope again.

You don’t need to be wealthy to help. One school bag, one meal, one small act—can change everything for someone.

If you’re visiting Sri Lanka, you can even visit them and see the impact your kindness creates. Or you can find the families from YouTube—or we can find relevant videos and send to you.

👉 We can personally connect you to a real family in need—without any intermediaries or organizations involved—so your support reaches the people who truly need it, with full transparency and heart.
