Sri Lanka Railways is thrilled to announce the launch of its newest addition—the Ella Weekend Express—a luxury train service created to meet the increasing demand from local and international travelers seeking an unforgettable hill country experience on weekends.

📅 Launch Date: Saturday, August 16, 2025
🚉 Route: Colombo Fort ↔ Badulla (via Ella)
🪑 Seats: 350 luxury seats designed for comfort and panoramic viewing

This new train offers a relaxing, scenic, and safe journey through tea estates, waterfalls, iconic bridges, and lush mountain landscapes—making it the perfect getaway for nature lovers, weekend explorers, and tourists searching for a unique and stylish travel experience.

• Departure: Every Saturday at 5.30 AM from Colombo Fort

🚂 Return Journey Badulla to Colombo
• Departure: Every Sunday at 9.000 PM from Badulla
