Ages 2 to 5 years
Children between 2 and 5 years cannot travel alone — they must be accompanied by an adult who is 18 years or older.
However, in very special cases, if a family needs to send a child of this age, the airline may allow the child to travel under the supervision of a ticketed SriLankan Airlines crew member. This must be arranged in advance and approved by the airline.
Ages 5 to 12 years
SriLankan Airlines offers a dedicated Unaccompanied Minor (UMNR) Service — a beautifully organized system that ensures children travelling alone are cared for from check-in to arrival.
